Developed by IO Interactive and published by Eidos Interactive, comes Kane & Lynch: Dead Men. This game is available on Xbox 360, PS3 and Windows. Lions Gate movie studio has also already bought the movie rights for this game, so you know it has to be good!
Kane & Lynch: Dead Men is a spiritual type sequel to IO's Freedom Fighters, due to the fact of similarities in the game's controls, overall game-play, the game engine and the recruitment and management techniques of the squad.
Opening scene a voice-over reads a letter which is address to Jenny, a young girl. It is from her father Kane. Kane has been convicted of crimes that were committed in Venezuela and is traveling to death row. James Lynch, another death row inmate, hints plans of a break out during mid-trip, which Kane is unaware. The bus carrying the inmates is involved in a head on collision and a group of mercenaries, later known to be The7 (games antagonist), who free them. Soon it becomes known that instead of rescuing it is indeed a kidnapping. The two convicts are taken to an under construction shopping mall where The7 are revealed as culprits of breakout. They are after Kane and looking for revenge for allegedly leaving them to die and stealing the 'retirement award'. Indifferent to Kane's repeated claims of innocence, The7 make Kane an offer. They state that he must find the stolen item within three weeks, or both his wife and daughter will be murdered. It is known that even if Kane is successful, he will still be murdered upon the completion of his task. Lynch is the middleman, reporting to The7 of Kane's every move.
Kane and Lynch make a journey to the bank where they recover two briefcases which contain a mysterious, unknown item in each of them. To their surprise when arriving at the vault, only one briefcase is to be found. They must now travel to Japan to persuade the daughter of crime lord Retomoto, Yoko, to help them in recovering the second briefcase. Lynch ends up killing Yoko stating she would not stay still. This raged Yoko's father. Once escaping Retomoto's men, the story line goes back to Kane's three week deadline.
Kane takes a desperate plea to renegotiate with The7 back in LA. While Lynch inquires on his decision, Kane refers to Lynch that he is a dead man also. Lynch knowingly has made a secret deal with The7 ensuring his life and a place in The7. As most antagonists do, they betray Lynch and knock him out. Once awaken, he comes in and out of consciousness, seeing Kane in a shallow grave that is located at a construction site. The7 gets ready to execute Kane, as his plea for more time failed. The7 kills Kane's estranged wife in front of his eyes. The brothers leave for Havana and Kane attempts to talk to his daughter who is pulled into the hole.
